Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) 2010

 

Microsoft Deployment Toolkit 2010 is the newest version of Microsoft Deployment Toolkit, a Solution Accelerator for operating system and application deployment. MDT 2010 supports deployment of Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 in addition to deployment of Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2003, and Windows XP.

new icons The next Office suite will feature a new set of program icons. They are still easily recognisable so users, shouldn’t have any problems working out what’s what.
The most obvious change is the large Letter on each icon, which is the first letter from each program, e.g Outlook will become O.

WinRE in Windows 2008 R2

Windows RE is an extensible recovery platform based on Windows Preinstallation Environment
(Windows PE). Windows RE is a partial version of the OS and includes a set of tools that you
can use to perform system recoveries along with a backup that you created earlier using
Windows Server backup. Windows RE also includes a basic image recovery mechanism
leveraging Windows Setup, helping OEMs and corporations provide system recovery with
minimal effort.

RDC 7 will ensure that when connecting to Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 from an XP or Vista machines you are able to take advantage of the rich, advanced RDP7 features such as Media Player Redirection, True Multi-monitor support, etc

Microsoft posts PowerPoint 2010 slideshow teaser

Microsoft’s upcoming Office 2010 suite packs some excellent new improvements; each of the various applications has had significant improvements, and now we’ve been shown a teaser of the presentations capable in the new PowerPoint, from Microsoft itself. Specifically, the video shows off the DirectX integration within the application, which helps with creating much more impressive presentations.
