Even when carving a physical server into multiple virtual machines, customers using vitalization probably won\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t find any way to circumvent the licensing terms set by Microsoft for software running on virtual machines, Forrester analyst Christopher Voce said at Forrester\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s IT Forum in Las Vegas Friday.  <\/p>\n<p>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153If you are getting any benefit from Microsoft\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s software, you need to have a license, whether that benefit is for physical machines or virtual machines,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d Voce said in a session titled \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Microsoft Licensing in a Virtual World.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d \u00e2\u20ac\u0153You cannot engineer your way around licensing requirements.
