Office Mobile to Include OneNote and SharePoint

Redmond-based software company Microsoft is reportedly preparing a few new goodies for the Windows Mobile-based handsets that should come to the market sometime in the second half of the next year, at least when it comes to the Office Mobile, one of the most popular applications present within the mobile platform from the company. There are no official details on what future releases of Office Mobile should include, yet a mock-up from a Microsoft presentation from August 2009 seems to deliver a few pieces of info on what one might expect.

Office Web Applications Tech Preview

Today, Microsoft is making a so-called Tech Preview version of its long-awaited Office Web Applications (OWA) services available for limited testing. As of this writing, I haven’t had a lot of hands-on time with OWA, but because of the tremendous excitement over this product, I want to provide a quick heads-up about what’s going on here, and when you can expect to try it yourself.

Office 2008 12.2.1 available today for mac’s

Today, we released Office 2008 12.2.1. This release fixes issues where some users were unable to open some of their XML-based files in PowerPoint and Excel.

This issue was accidentally introduced when we introduced stronger checking of our new XML-based file formats. In short, we were looking for a particular XML tag, and some files were either missing this file or didn’t have it in the form that we were expecting. Most users didn’t see this issue, and for users who did see this issue, it usually wasn’t affecting all of their files.
